1) If you are not already running OrangePC Version 3.3 software, you MUST download and install OrangePC Version 3.3 software prior to using the below OrangePC Version 3.3.1 application.
2) A couple of additional requirements to get USB printing to work correctly is that the user must run MacOS 8.6 and follow this tech note from Apple http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n58407.
Make sure you are using the latest USB driver for your specific printer. You can download the latest Epson drivers from http://www.epson.com/support/instans/macijans.html.
Apple has released various firmware updates for the iMac and Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White). Included in these updates are revisions for USB functionality. Check with the USB device manufacturer to see if they require a specific update be installed. If you are running Mac OS 8.6, it has the latest USB software updates though there still may be computer specific updates required.
If you are using Mac OS 8.6, remove the following four Epson extensions and verify the extension named USBPrintDriver is installed and active in the Extensions Manager control panel.
Remove these four extensions:
Epson USBPrintClass1
Epson USBPrintClass2
Epson USBPrintClass3
Epson USBPrintClassA
If you encounter issues with the Epson printing software, remove all the Epson printer software and reinstall the latest software version.
3) In order to install or run any of the new Office 2000 line of products on the OrangePC under Windows 95 or 98, you must remove the Orange Micro 32 bit Floppy Driver. This doesn't cause the floppy to be inaccessible, but just has it run in MS-DOS Compatibility mode.
To do this you must go to the directory C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS and delete the file OPCFLOP.PDR.
We are currently working on a more permanent solution and hope to have it out by the next OrangePCi release.
